Comprehensive Health Campaign Launch
The Ministry of Health, through the Division of Health Promotion and in collaboration with the Long Distance Drivers and Conductors Association (LoDDCA), will be launching a national health campaign aimed at improving the health and well-being of public transport drivers including long-distance drivers, taxi operators, ride-hailing drivers, and boda boda riders.
This strategic initiative seeks to engage this critical population of over 5 million individuals, who play an important role in the country’s economy and interact daily with millions of Kenyans. These drivers face increased exposure to various health risks including non-communicable diseases, mental health challenges, road safety issues, and low access to preventive health services. Through this campaign, we aim to empower them as health champions while providing access to essential health interventions across the country.
Key components of the campaign will include:
 – A Presidential-led national fundraising event proposed on 28th May 2025
 – Comprehensive medical camps in 10 counties in quarter one
 – Community engagement forums
-Football tournaments and public awareness campaigns
 – Road safety education
 – Graduation ceremonies for those completing rehabilitation and treatment programs.
