Nakuru, Kenya — February 2, 2025
The Long Distance Drivers and Conductors Association (LoDDCA) has issued important guidelines aimed at ensuring smooth operations at the port and along transport corridors. The association is calling on all truck drivers to cooperate with the Regional Electronic Cargo Tracking System (RECTS) officers by providing necessary documents when requested to facilitate efficient cargo clearance and tracking.
In a public notice, LoDDCA emphasized the importance of verifying Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officers to prevent fraud and ensure lawful compliance. Drivers are advised to confirm the authenticity of KRA officers by following a simple verification process:
- Dial *572#
- Enter the officer’s staff number or national ID
- Receive confirmation on whether the individual is an authorized KRA staff member
LoDDCA urged drivers to report any individuals who fail verification to the relevant authorities immediately.
The association’s Chairman, Elijah (0724 830 563), reiterated the importance of staying vigilant while ensuring professional conduct in the transport sector. CEO Anthony (0721 496 503) and Secretary General Elvis (0722 865 946) echoed the association’s commitment to safeguarding truck drivers from exploitation while promoting a fair and lawful working environment.
LoDDCA, headquartered at Njengi House on Tom Mboya Street in Nakuru, continues to advocate for fair working conditions, better wages, and improved safety measures for transport workers across Kenya.
